The Mardie Salt & Potash Project is located 100 kilometers southwest of Karratha on the West Pilbara coast. Once completed, it will be Australia's largest solar salt project and rank third in scale globally.
The project will produce 5.35 million tonnes per annum of high-purity salt (>99.5% NaCl) and 140,000 tonnes per annum of sulphate of potash (SOP) (>52% K2O) via solar evaporation of seawater. The project features its own export terminal to ship product to key Asian markets.

The Company listed on the ASX in December 2006 as BC Iron Limited, an iron ore exploration and development company focused on the Nullagine Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
In mid-2016, the Company was renamed BCI Resources to reflect its evolving asset portfolio. The Mardie Salt and Potash Project became the Company's key focus following completion of a Pre-Feasibility Study in June 2018.

Seawater is pumped into large evaporation ponds where natural solar energy concentrates the brine. As water evaporates, salt crystallizes out first, followed by potash salts in later stages of concentration.
Our high-purity salt has applications in chemical production, water treatment, food processing and de-icing. Sulphate of potash is a premium fertilizer especially valuable for chloride-sensitive crops.
Main construction commenced in Q1 2022. The project is currently in development with first production expected in the coming years.
